Mangalore : District In-Charge Minister Krishna J Palemar inaugurated Rajyotsava celebration held at Nehru Maidan on November 1, Monday.
The BJP ruled Karnataka Govt, under the benign leadership of CM B.S. Yeddyurappa has drawn up plans for every section of the society, be they agriculturists, fishermen, landless and homeless poor people, artisans, artistes and workers, several schemes like Bhagyalakshmi, ambulance services, health cards, diesel for fishing boats, foodgrains distribution at cheaper rates, among others have been implemented. These plans are also bringing happiness and satisfaction to coastal people, J.Krishna Palemar Minister incahrge of DK dt. Informed on Rajyotsava Day in his address to the people assembled at Nehru Maidan in Mangalore.
Later Palemar also presented the Rajyotsava awards 44 achievers from different fields of Dakshina Kannada for thier contribution in various fields. After the flag hoist, an attractive march fast and cultural programmes by school children were organised.
The district in-charge minister took the salute at a march past conducted by civil police, Traffic police, Guides, Bharath Sevadal, KSRP, and District armed reserve police and Home Guards.
There was a procession from Jyothi circle to Nehru Maidan accompanied with various tableaux before the event. MLAs Yogish Bhat, U T Khader, Deputy Commissioner Shobhod Yadav, City police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh, Superintendent of Police A Subramanyeshwar Rao particptaed at the procession.
Later Rajyotsava awards were conferred on Forty four achievers like the ace Konkani expert Venkatesh Baliga, litterateur D. G.
