Mangaluru : Minister in-charge of Dakshina Kannada and Minister for Forests, Environment and Ecology B. Ramanath Rai said here on Monday that the Opposition BJP could raise the Yettinahole issue in the Legislative Assembly.
Replying to questions by presspersons, the Minister said that the Opposition Leader in the Assembly Jagadish Shettar could move an adjournment motion.
He said that if the BJP raised the issue in the Assembly, he as a Minister would also speak on the issue in the Assembly. Commenting over the recent ‘padayatra’ of Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP, from Mangaluru to Yettinahole (which was prevented by Hassan police at Gundia) against the project, the Minister said that such gimmicks would not help stop the project.
Mr. Rai said that a meeting to discuss the project proposed by the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was postponed recently due to a series of holidays last month.
