Mangalore: The BJP has finalized a list of candidates for ensuring ZP/TP elections in DK Udupi districts.
Padmanabha Kottari, DK unit Chairman released the list here, saying that 26 out of 35 are presently selected for ZP wards and 113 TP candidates out of 129 constituencies also are finalized. By Friday (today) the balance names also should be ready, he added. Only 2 sitting members of ZP are found in the new lists.
As Puthige is reserved for women, a former ZP Chief from JD-S has asked his wife Sunitha (Sucharitha) Shetty to stand as the BJP candidate.
Most of the names for Zilla and Taluk Panchayat contest this year (Dec. 26 & 31) are stated to be new and perhaps young.
