At present, there is a ban on total canvassing, 48 hours prior to the date of election, but now, door-to –door canvassing also will be banned to stop money, liquor and other incentives being offered to voters by candidates in those 48 hours secretly.
Voters should be bold to go out and vote in an election. The candidates and their henchmen will be prevented from influencing the voters in favour of a candidate on the day of voting, SYQ explained. When the voters are not distracted by money or liquor or other lures, they will be free to vote and a fair election could take place, the CEO opined.
