Mangalore: The Sree Devi Nritya Trust formed by Jayalaxmi Alva in 1994 has conducted several workshops on Indian dances ever since and now along with Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan, a 10-day Maharashtrian Folk Dance(Lavani) workshop was organised as ‘Nrityotsava-2011’ which concluded on Friday at Town Hall on a spectacular note, under deft guidance of Anil K. Kichi from New Delhi, a dance teacher.
Chief Guest of the evening from Indian overseas Bank was SK Umesh, who spoke on corporate social responsibility towards performing arts like Dancing.
Mangalore airport director M.R. Vasudeva Rao was present as secretary of BV Bhawan. Jayalaxmi Alva adorned the stage. Dr. Arathi Shetty welcomed the gathering. Kichi was felicitated on the occasion.
Sevaral Folk dances like Koli and Lazim were presented, by students. Certificates were issued to participants.
