Udupi: The Campaigning at Udupi and Chikkamagalur districts for the by-polls to a Lok Sabha seat on May 18, ends tonight, when the voting is hardly 60 hours away now.

The 3 parties and ten other candidates have made a battleground out of that area for no specific reason other than prestige, as the winner may not even become a minister after being sworn-in, as MP.

But students affiliated to NSUI(Congress) took a walking march(pad-yatra) out on Thursday, from Congress Bhavan to taluk office, court road, K.M. Marg and ended at city bus stand. Goan MP Shantaram Naik was with them.

AICC secretary Ved Prakash, Youth leader Amrit Shenoy, MU-NSUI secretary Preetam Alva, Moidin Bawa, SC Bose Raj, Veronica Comelio, Vishwesh Upadhyaya and several others joined the procession and attended the rally.
