Mangaluru: “Kambala is a traditional sport. No one has got hurt because of it. The state government should convince the Central effectively,” said BJP State President B S Yeddyurappa.
He was speaking to the reporters at district BJP office on Monday.
“We are hopeful that state HC will give order in favour of Kambala. Central Minister Ravishankar Prasad will be arriving at Mangaluru on January 25 and a delegation of BJP will hold discussions regarding Kambala with him,” he said.
Further he said that law and order in DK district has been disrupted. Murders, assaults and other illegal activities have been observed commonly. The state government has failed to maintain the law and order in the state.
“The state government has also failed to tackle drought in the state. The aid given by Central government has not been utilised properly. So, the BJP representatives in assembly, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will be contributing their pay to the drought hit areas,” he added.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, former MLA Yogish Bhat and others were present.
