Karkala: Rupa Shetty assumed as the new chief of the Karkala town council on Monday. Vice president of the town council Pallavi and other staff welcomed Shetty. Shetty had served in the Puttur town council for 4.5 years. Rupa Shetty has also previously worked in the Mangaluru City Corporation.
