Mangalore : Apart from ABVP today, around 1500 students of Canara High School in Dongerkery, organised a rally to commemorate Kargil  war and its over 500 martyrs in the 74 days long battle of India against Pakistani invaders in Jammu – Kashmir province in 1999, on Monday July 26 here.

n. Yogish Bhat, four times MLA of the  port city, and Capt, Ganesh Karnik, MLC, led the rally of the enthusiastic students on Indian Victory Day. They expressed patriotic feelings through slogan – shouting, going round the streets, before returning to the school in an hour. Heartfelt tributes were paid to the 527 martyrs of 1999 on this day at the school function by offering flowers.
