Surathkal : Surathkal police on Saturday arrested Gururaj Achari, a known rowdy-sheeter and the prime accused in a case of attempted murder involving the stabbing of two youths over a trivial reason.
Earlier, the police had arrested Sushanth (alias Kadavi) of Katla, Surathkal, as well as K.V. Alex of Katla, Surathkal, in connection with the case.
Nithin (26) of Indira Katte, Surathkal, was also taken into custody by the police on Friday.
Furthermore, the police arrested Arun Shetty of Kulai Honnakatte for allegedly providing shelter to the accused.
While Gururaj Achari was the prime accused and had been absconding, another suspect named Ashok is still at large, and the police are continuing their search operation to trace him.
The incident took place on Thursday night when Gururaj Achari (who has a history of involvement in several cases), along with Alex Santosh, Nithin, and Sushanth, allegedly stabbed and attempted to murder Hasan Mukshit and Nizam over a minor issue.
A case of attempted murder has been officially registered at the Surathkal Police Station regarding this incident.
Latest Update on Absconding Suspect Ashok in Surathkal Stabbing Case
Based on the most recent reports available (as of late Saturday, October 25, 2025), the status of the absconding suspect, Ashok, remains unchanged. While the prime accused, the rowdy-sheeter Gururaj Achari, has been arrested by the Surathkal police, Ashok is still at large. He is accused of providing shelter to Achari and the other suspects involved in the attempted murder of the two youths, Hasan Mukshit and Nizam. The police confirm that intensive search operations and a manhunt are currently underway to trace and apprehend Ashok.
