Mangaluru : Air India Express has unveiled a new international flight schedule connecting Doha and Mangaluru, providing a significant boost to travelers moving between the Gulf nations and Coastal Karnataka. Set to commence on April 1, 2026, this direct service aims to benefit Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), business professionals, and families who maintain close ties with Qatar and the Mangaluru region. The introduction of this route is expected to streamline travel, save time, and further strengthen the cultural and economic bonds between the two cities.
According to the new schedule, flights from Doha to Mangaluru will operate on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. These flights are slated to depart from Doha at 12:30 AM and arrive at Mangaluru International Airport by 7:15 AM. For the return journey, flights from Mangaluru to Doha will be available on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, departing at 10:00 PM and reaching Doha at 11:30 PM. This strategic timing is designed to cater to the peak travel requirements of the diaspora.
The announcement has been met with widespread enthusiasm from the Mangalurean community residing in Qatar, who have long advocated for increased direct connectivity. By eliminating the need for layovers, this service simplifies the commute for thousands of passengers. Industry experts believe that this enhanced connectivity will not only ease passenger movement but also foster better trade and tourism opportunities for Coastal Karnataka in the coming years.
