Mangaluru : Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) successfully hosted a one-day National Hindi Seminar on February 9, 2026, at the MRPL Recreation Centre. The event, centered on the theme “Evolving Journey of Official Language with Harmony and Inclusion,” aimed to explore the progressive role of Hindi in contemporary India. Shri Kumar Pal Sharma, Joint Director (Implementation) from the Ministry of Home Affairs, officially inaugurated the seminar, while Dr. Dheeraj Kumar Mishra, Senior Analyst at NERBFID, graced the session as the Guest of Honour. The presence of senior officials, including Shri Devesh Dubey, Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav, and Shri Sudhir Dubey, added significant depth to the administrative and linguistic discussions.
Presiding over the program, Shri Krishna Hegde Miyar, General Manager (HR) at MRPL, delivered an insightful address on India’s vast cultural and linguistic diversity. He remarked that in a multicultural society, Hindi functions not just as an official tool but as a vital link language that fosters national consciousness and unity. He emphasized that the true growth of the official language lies in its spirit of inclusion, suggesting that Hindi can only truly represent the nation’s soul when it evolves by involving all regions and linguistic communities harmoniously.
The seminar featured five comprehensive sessions that provided participants with valuable perspectives on the implementation and evolution of the official language. The event saw a massive turnout of approximately 200 delegates representing various Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), Central Government offices, and educational institutions affiliated with Mangalore University. Participants arrived from across the region, including Puttur, Udupi, Kundapur, Sulya, Karkala, Moodbidri, and Ujire, making the seminar a significant regional hub for linguistic discourse and national integration.
