Hubballi : In a heart-wrenching incident in Hubballi, the 15-year-old son of a local BJP leader lost his life while filming a high-speed stunt for a social media reel. The deceased, identified as Namish Sangalad, son of BJP leader Veeresh Sangalad, was a Class 9 student in Mysuru and had recently returned home to Hubballi for the Ugadi holidays. The tragedy unfolded on Thursday at Shejawadkar when Namish and his friends gathered to record a video involving a high-speed motorcycle and a luxury Audi car.
The group had reportedly planned to film a viral-worthy stunt featuring the teenage Namish on a bike being followed by the Audi. According to police reports, the Audi was being driven by another 15-year-old minor. During the high-speed filming process, the car reportedly lost control and rammed into the motorcycle ridden by Namish. The impact of the collision was so severe that the young boy died on the spot.
Hubballi-Dharwad Police Commissioner N. Shashi Kumar visited the site to inspect the scene following the tragedy. The Vidyanagar police have registered a formal case and are currently questioning the minor driver involved in the accident. Furthermore, the authorities are investigating the legal culpability of the parents or guardians who permitted unlicensed minors to operate a luxury vehicle and a high-end motorcycle, leading to this fatal outcome.
