Udupi : The Manipal police have successfully solved a daring kidnapping case that occurred near a hospital in Manipal by arresting four individuals. The arrested suspects have been identified as Ramanath Srinu (30), Mohan Ramavath (22), Paramesh (30), and Palya Vijay (25), all residents of the Nalgonda district in Telangana. The operation led to the safe rescue of the victim and the seizure of two vehicles used in the crime.
The incident took place on March 31, when Rajesh, a resident of Dasaramakki in Kundapura, had visited a hospital in Manipal for his brother’s treatment. While he was having tea at a canteen outside the hospital premises, the accused arrived in a car, forcibly bundled him into the vehicle, and fled the spot. A complaint was subsequently filed at the Manipal Police Station, alleging that Rajesh was kidnapped over a business dispute related to matters in Telangana.
Following the complaint, a special investigation team was formed under the leadership of Manipal Police Inspector Mahesh Prasad. The team included sub-inspectors and personnel from the Cyber, Malpe, Udupi City, and Brahmavar stations. Utilizing technical surveillance and local intelligence, the team traced the suspects to Telangana. On the early morning of April 9, the police conducted a raid on a lodge in Govindpalli, Karimnagar, Jagtial district, where they successfully apprehended the kidnappers and rescued Rajesh.
