Kundapur : A young woman accidentally slipped and fell into the Kindi dam water while returning home after collecting fodder for cattle on Thursday at Jambehadi in Jaddinagadde, Amasibailu village.
The deceased has been identified as 23-year-old Mookambika, the youngest of eight children of Sanjeev Naik and Narsi from Jaddinagadde’s Jambehadi.
She was employed at a petrol bunk in Amasibailu In the morning, she had gone with her sister-in-law Ashwini to collect grass for cattle. While returning, Ashwini, carrying a bundle of fodder, walked ahead towards the house, followed by Mookambika. When Ashwini reached home and noticed that Mookambika had not arrived, she called out for her and went back towards the estate to look for her.
Ashwini searched for Mookambika and found a sickle used for cutting grass lying on the dam bund. Alarmed, she cried out for help. Family members rushed to the spot and found Mookambika’s body in the dam.
A post-mortem was conducted at the Shankarnarayana Primary Health Centre.
