Mangaluru : Following a complaint from a customer to Health Minister U.T. Khader regarding worms found in eggs purchased through the Blinkit online platform, a team of Health Department officials conducted a late-night raid on Thursday. The operation targeted the Blinkit dark store operating out of Falnir Square building in Falnir, Mangaluru, to inspect quality and hygiene standards.
During the inspection, officials discovered damaged and broken egg packets stored within the hub, directing the staff to clear them immediately. To ensure a thorough cleaning and sanitization of the inventory space, authorities decided to temporarily lock and seal the storage room. Official notices have been served to the platform management, instructing them to provide a detailed explanation regarding the lapse.
In a separate development mentioned in police reports, sources disclosed that four cases are currently registered at the Moodbidri Police Station against Prem Bhandari and Sanjay Hegde. It has been reported that rowdy sheets were previously opened against both individuals, though the associated bond periods have since expired.
