Udupi : Brahmavar police have booked activist Mahesh Shetty Thimarody for a statement allegedly denigrating BJP national general secretary B.L. Santosh.
In the complaint to Brahmavara police, Rajiv Kulal, president of Udupi Rural BJP Mandal, accused Mr. Thimarody of making personal comments and maligning the character of Mr. Santosh, who has spoken openly against the ‘smear campaign’ on Dharmsthala temple citing the ongoing investigation into the mass burial allegation.
Considering comments against Mr. Santosh as done to provoke breach of peace, Brahmavar police registered a case against Mr. Thimarody for offences under Sections 352 and 353 (2) (statements conducive to public mischief) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
