Kolar : In Agalakote village of Malur taluk, two companies have looted 50 acres of land that was donated for a government school. MP Dr. K. Sudhakar demanded that the state government take immediate action against this.
Speaking at a press conference, he said that three years have passed since the Congress’s misrule began. The government is immersed in corruption, with irregularities occurring from the peon to the principal secretary. No one gets transfers or promotions without paying money. Elected representatives are encroaching on government lands. Ministers and influential people are registering P-number lands in their names. In areas like Shidlaghatta and Chintamani, they are acquiring lands from people at low prices, claiming they will establish industries and provide jobs. They are acquiring lands within a 20 km radius of the Devanahalli International Airport, he alleged.
In Doddaballapur, Nelamangala, and Hosakote, farmers are not getting fertile land for cultivation. Similarly, in Shidlaghatta and Chintamani, land for agriculture is not available. In Jangamakote, they have acquired two and a half thousand acres of land, hitting the farmers hard. In Andhra Pradesh, CM Chandrababu Naidu is starting industries in Rayalaseema and Vizag. Chandrababu Naidu can be taken as a model for industrial development. But the government is ruining the villages in Chikkaballapur. They themselves acquire the land, give it to KIADB, and convert black money into white. They buy land from farmers for 50-60 lakh rupees and sell it for one crore rupees. Elected representatives who buy land from farmers who have held it for the last hundred years for 50 lakh rupees are selling it for one crore rupees in just three months. This is not visible to the Chief Minister, he said.
Daylight Robbery in Malur
Social worker T.G. Srinivasulu had donated acres of land in survey numbers 2, 7, 8, 10, 18, 60, 61, 63, 64 in Agalakote village of Tekal hobli in Malur taluk to the education department in 1955-56. This was registered through a donation deed and given to the school. The land was given with the intention that poor children should get education. It was written in the letter that this land should not be used for any other purpose under any circumstances. However, after industries started here, real estate mafia began. Along with that, land grabbers came and swallowed the lands of innocents, he said.
Investors, elected representatives, and land grabbers have joined together to do such work. Similarly, 50 acres of land have been encroached. This land has been given to United Estates led by R. Gangadhar and United Green Woods of M. Panchaksharayya Hiremath. Even after reports about this appeared in the media, the government has not taken action. The government has no commitment to build new schools or provide classrooms. When Basavaraj Bommai was CM, he had provided 9,000 classrooms. In the last three years, no new classrooms have been provided. But the land given to the government school has been encroached. Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda has not taken action against this. Minister Krishna Byre Gowda should immediately discuss with officials, investigate this, and take action against the guilty. The minister should identify the culprits and file criminal cases. The Education Department Commissioner should discuss with the Principal Secretary of the Revenue Department, obtain all land documents, and cancel the land grant, he demanded.
The daylight robbery of lands has started from Malur. As soon as they knew I was coming to this area, some influential people contacted me. If such valuable land is recovered, I will discuss at the central government level and try to bring an educational institution here. I will discuss this with Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy. I will also raise my voice about this in the Parliament session, he said.
