Udupi : In a major boost to local self-help groups (SHGs), Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Kota Srinivas Poojary today launched a special range of Deepavali gift boxes. These exclusive festive packages were prepared by four Akka Sanjeevini Stores as an initiative of the Udupi Zilla Panchayat and Kaup Taluk Panchayat.
The aim is to offer unique, quality, and locally-made products as ideal Deepavali gifts, empowering women entrepreneurs in the region.

Padubidri & Shirva Stores: Boxes packed with a delicious assortment of Homemade Laddus, Sweets, and Snacks.
Belapu Store: A unique Puja Kit featuring cow-based products, perfect for traditional rituals.
The launch ceremony of the Akka Sanjeevini Deepavali gift boxes was graced by a significant presence of political representatives and district administrators, underscoring the institutional support for the self-help group initiative. Among the dignitaries present were area MLAs, including Gurme Suresh Shetty (Kaup), Yashpal Suvarna (Udupi), and A. Kiran Kumar Kodgi (Kundapura). They were joined by key district officials: Deputy Commissioner T K Swaroopa, Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar, Additional DC Abid Gadyal, and Assistant Commissioner S R Rashmi, alongside others, to show solidarity for the local enterprise initiative.
