Sullia: A student studying in Mangalore drowned in a lakenear to Kannur in Kerala on Sunday.
A resident of Balikal in Madappadi village of Sullia taluk, Astik Raghav (19), son of retired Taluk Health Officer Dr. Nanda Kumar of Sullia, and a first-year science student at a private dental college in Mangalore, has died. The deceased is survived by his father, mother and sister.
Astik Raghav had gone from Mangalore with his classmate to his classmate’s house in Kannur, Kerala on Sunday morning. Later, when they went to bathe in a lake near their house, Astik slipped and fell into the water and drowned. The family members, who came to know about the incident, went to the scene in Kannur, Kerala.
It is learnt that the procedures were being carried out there and the body will be brought to their hometown.
