Belthangady : The judicial proceedings regarding the controversial Dharmasthala skull discovery case have reached a crucial stage at the Belthangady court. The Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is probing the matter, recently submitted a comprehensive report to the court. While the court was initially expected to deliver its order on December 26, the Additional Civil Judge has now rescheduled the announcement to December 29. This delay comes after the completion of extensive arguments regarding the findings presented by the investigators.
The SIT had previously submitted a massive 3,923-page report under the sections of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, seeking legal action against six individuals, including a man named Chinnaiah, for allegedly providing false evidence. During the hearings, Assistant Public Prosecutor Divyaraj Hegde, representing the SIT, argued for further guidance on the investigation. He presented various documents and key evidence to convince the court of the necessity for legal proceedings against the accused, emphasizing the importance of holding those accountable for misleading the investigation.
In a related development, Chinnaiah, one of the primary accused in the case, appeared before the Belthangady court on Friday to face the proceedings. Following his court appearance, he visited the SIT office to fulfill his bail conditions by marking his attendance. Accompanied by his wife, Mallika, his presence at the office was part of the mandatory legal requirements imposed by the court while the final decision on the SIT’s report remains pending.
