Mangaluru : In light of the escalating tensions in the Gulf region, Mangaluru International Airport has officially announced the cancellation of all flight services scheduled for March 3 to major destinations, including Dubai, Doha, Dammam, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi. This critical decision follows reports of Iran launching retaliatory strikes against key locations, including U.S. military bases in Gulf nations, in response to attacks by Israel and the United States. Due to the rapidly deteriorating security situation, authorities have suspended air travel to these regions as a primary precautionary measure to ensure the safety of all passengers.
The sudden suspension of flights has sparked widespread concern across the coastal belt of Karnataka, where thousands of families depend on relatives employed in Gulf countries. Beyond the immediate travel uncertainty, there is growing anxiety regarding the well-being of Kannadigas currently working in the affected areas. While officials have not yet provided a specific timeline for when flight operations will resume, they have advised passengers to stay in constant contact with their respective airlines for further updates and information regarding the evolving situation.
