Mangaluru : Father Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI) held a press briefing on April 13, 2026, to announce the details of its upcoming Graduation Days. Led by Director Rev. Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo, the management shared that this year’s celebrations represent a meaningful shift in tradition. In a move away from conventional academic regalia, the institution has decided to replace the traditional Oxford caps with specially designed sashes representing each respective college. Graduates will also receive framed certificates, adding a personalized and lasting touch to the milestone. Fr Lobo emphasized that these ceremonies reflect the institution’s long-standing legacy of providing value-based education and academic brilliance.
The graduation schedule spans three days, beginning on April 16, 2026, with the 36th Graduation Day of the Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College. Distinguished guests including Dr. Tarakeshwar Jain and Dr. K. S. Gangadhar Somayaji will witness 111 graduates receiving their degrees. The second day, April 17, will cater to 518 graduates from the Medical, Allied Health, and Physiotherapy colleges, featuring Shri Sharanprakash R. Patil and Prof. Dr. Airani Mohammad Khan as Chief Guests. The final day, April 18, will honor 177 nursing graduates and students from the College of Speech and Hearing, with Dr. Venkataraja Aithal and Dr. Asha P. Shetty gracing the occasion.
A core highlight of the ceremonies is the recognition of merit through the prestigious President’s Gold Medal and various institutional awards established in honor of past leaders and benefactors. These accolades celebrate excellence in research, academics, and overall student conduct. The spiritual proceedings will commence with a thanksgiving Eucharistic celebration on April 16 at St Joseph Chapel, led by the Bishop of Mangalore, Most Rev. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha. The management, supported by local media coordinators, has extended a warm invitation to the community to celebrate the success of their students and the institution’s service-oriented vision.
