Mulki : In a decisive crackdown on illicit narcotics, the Mulki police successfully apprehended a middle-aged man on Thursday, June 25, for his alleged involvement in the illegal sale of ganja (marijuana). Acting on precise intelligence, law enforcement officials caught the suspect operating along the Railway Station Road located within the jurisdiction of Kilpadi village.
The arrested individual has been formally identified as 50-year-old Abbas, a resident of the Kotekar locality in Mangaluru. During the targeted interception, the police team confiscated a substantial haul of 4 kilograms of ganja from his possession. According to official estimates, the street value of the seized contraband is pegged at approximately ₹2 lakh.
Following the successful raid, a criminal case has been registered against Abbas at the Mulki police station under Crime No. 45/2026. He faces stringent charges under Sections 8(c) and 20(b) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The breakthrough was achieved through a perfectly coordinated joint operation executed by the Mulki police personnel alongside a specialized team spearheaded by the Panambur Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).
