Trainee Pilot from Udupi Killed in Kanpur Aircraft Crash

Udupi : A 22-year-old trainee pilot from Udupi district lost his life when a private training aircraft crashed in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, on Thursday, August 27, 2026. The deceased has been identified as Abhishek Poojary, a resident originally belonging to Kadeberke in Kanajar village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Hiriadka police station in Udupi district.

Abhishek had been undergoing training as a private trainee pilot in Kanpur for the past two and a half years. His parents, Prabhakar Poojary and Shashikala Poojary, currently reside in Mumbai. Following the tragic incident, family members have traveled to Kanpur to complete the necessary legal formalities and claim the body as procedures continue.
