Haveri: If there is a greater demand for fertilizers in the state, and if the state government submits a proposal, the central government will supply the necessary fertilizers, and rfforts will be made to secure fertilizers from the Centre, said former Chief Minister and MP Basavaraj Bommai.

Speaking to the media in Haveri, he said that if the state government submits a proposal for additional fertilizers, the central government will supply them. However, it is the responsibility of the Agriculture Department to handle this task.

Responding to a question regarding the installation of smart meters in households, he said the issue of smart meters is currently in court, and a stay order has been issued. A complaint has also been filed with the Lokayukta. In some other states, smart meters have been installed at a lower cost, and in some places, they have been provided on lease. There is a suspicion among the public that the state government is charging consumers a higher price and even taking commissions from that. This issue must be investigated. The matter is in court.
