Mangaluru : The Shri Krishna Janmashtami festival was celebrated with great devotion on 16th August 2025 in Mangalore by ISKCON Sri Jagannath Mandir, Kudupu Katte, attracting over 2,000 devotees at the Town Hall.
The celebration began with the live National Gita Quiz contest and the prize distribution ceremony for children’s competitions in the presence of dignitaries including Sri Vedvyas Kamath (MLA, Mangalore South), Ms. Usha Prabha Nayak (Vice Chairman, Expert), Dr. Anirban Chakraborty (Principal, NITTE University Centre for Science, Education and Research), Mr. Vaishakh (Deputy Commissioner, Income Tax), and Dr. Kumuda Rao (Professor, Oral Medicine and Radiology, ABSMIDS).
This was followed by the Aarti of Lord Jagannath, Baladev, and Subhadra Devi, the Abhishekam, and the Jhulan Seva of Bala Gopal.
Highlights of the event included a wonderful Bharatanatyam performance by Shakti Nagar Bharat Natyam Centre dance team, a enlightening drama on the life of Sant Tukaram by the ISKCON Youth Forum, and soul-stirring kirtans.
The festival concluded with a Mahaarati followed by the distribution of sattvik prasadam. Widely covered by the media, the celebration reaffirmed Mangalore’s growing prominence as a hub of Vedic culture and spiritual festivities.
