Mangaluru: The Kannada Rajyotsava celebration was held on Saturday at the MESCOM Bhavan, the Corporate Office of the Mangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (MESCOM) in Bejai. The event aimed to honor the state language and culture.
Technical Director Stresses Priority for Kannada in Administration
During the program, MESCOM Technical Director Harish Kumar offered the Rajyotsava message after offering floral tribute to the portrait of Kannada Bhuvaneshwari (Mother Kannada). He emphasized the importance of never forgetting the mother tongue, Kannada, which possesses a glorious history and heritage. He urged everyone to give priority to the Kannada language in all day-to-day administrative affairs as a service to the Goddess of Kannada.
Call to Foster Language Pride in Children
Mr. Harish Kumar also stressed the collective responsibility to nurture pride for the Kannada language in children. He called upon all attendees to contribute their part towards helping the Kannada language grow to greater heights.
Dignitaries and Cultural Programme
The event featured a Kannada song rendition by the MESCOM staff, celebrating the glory of the language and the land. Key officials present included Chief Financial Officer Muralidhar Nayak, General Manager Dr. B.S. Manjunathaswamy, and office bearers from KPTCL Unions such as Naveen Kumar, Tejaswi, and Nitesh, along with other officers and staff members.
Assistant General Manager Pushparaj welcomed the gathering, Company Secretary Prabhat Joshi offered the vote of thanks, and MESCOM Public Relations Officer Vasanth Shetty compered the program.
