Belthangadi: Due to heavy rains in the taluk today (Wednesday, June 25), the Kapila River in Shishileshwara in Belthangadi taluk overflowed, causing water to enter the Shishileshwara Temple, which is famous for being a fish sanctuary.
It is reported that the water level of the river has risen and entered the sanctorum.
The nearby Kindi Dam (the temple’s connecting road) is completely submerged and water is currently flowing up to the suspension bridge there. Water has entered the farms adjacent to the river.
Panchayat President Sudheen D. said that the water is flowing like a flood, making it difficult for people to travel in that area.
