Udupi : The Konkan Railway Protection Force (RPF) has achieved significant success through various strategic operations, recovering assets worth lakhs and ensuring passenger safety. Under ‘Operation Amanat,’ the RPF successfully tracked and returned 252 items of lost luggage valued at ₹122.48 lakh to their rightful owners. Demonstrating a strong commitment to humanitarian causes, the force also rescued 98 minors under ‘Operation Nanhe Farishte,’ handing them over to Childline for proper care and rehabilitation.
In a major crackdown on illegal activities, ‘Operation Satark’ led to the seizure of 6,877 illicit liquor bottles worth ₹10.71 lakh, resulting in the arrest of 65 smugglers. Furthermore, the RPF’s anti-crime units registered 192 cases, leading to the apprehension and judicial custody of 222 offenders. The force’s alertness also extended to life-saving efforts, where RPF personnel saved the lives of four passengers under the ‘Jeevan Raksha’ project.
Addressing the issue of passenger theft, the RPF arrested 40 criminals involved in stealing commuters’ belongings and recovered stolen property worth ₹48.67 lakh. According to an official release, these combined efforts highlight the force’s multifaceted role in maintaining security, preventing smuggling, and providing essential assistance to passengers across the Konkan Railway network.
