Kundapur : The Kota police station has achieved a breakthrough in a recent case of gold chain theft in Yadadi Mathyadi village, successfully apprehending the accused and recovering the stolen property.
The individual arrested in connection with the crime is Anand (26), son of Subrahmanya Bhovi, who resides on Guddattu Ganapati Temple Road near Shiriya Anganwadi in Brahmavar’s Shiriya Village.
The investigation was initiated following a complaint filed by Basava Poojari (72), a local resident of Yadadi Mathyadi. Poojari reported the disappearance of an 18-gram gold chain, with an estimated worth of ₹1,45,000, which was stored in a Godrej cupboard at his home. The theft occurred sometime between 7:00 PM on September 26 and 9:00 AM on September 27.
The Kota police swiftly registered the case and launched an operation. The investigative team, spearheaded by PSI Praveen Kumar R and PSI Sudha Prabhu, alongside Kota Police staff, successfully traced and detained the suspect.
The police have confirmed the complete seizure and recovery of the stolen gold chain from Anand’s possession.
