Mangaluru : Girish Alva Morla, the Chief Convener of the Naringana Kambala Committee, has officially taken charge as the Vice President of the District Kambala Committee. Renowned in the traditional folk sport of coastal Karnataka, his buffaloes have achieved remarkable records by consistently bagging first-place awards across various competitive categories, including ‘Addahalage’. His profound expertise and dedicated commitment to preserving the traditional heritage of Kambala have earned him widespread respect throughout the district’s sports and cultural circles.
Born in Morla of Naringana village, Girish Alva Morla is fundamentally an agriculturist rooted in local traditions. Alongside his agricultural pursuits, he established a successful enterprise manufacturing and distributing bakery products under the brand name ‘Alvas’. In addition to his sports and business endeavors, he is actively involved in community service and various religious initiatives, contributing significantly to social and cultural developments in the region.
