Mangaluru: A major fire accident erupted late on Wednesday evening at Narayana Apartment, situated on the 8th Cross Road in the Gandhi Nagar area of Mangaluru city. The incident caused extensive damage to the property, with the loss estimated to be in the range of lakhs of rupees.
Upon receiving the alert, fire tenders rushed to the scene. Firefighting personnel engaged in an intense operation that lasted for approximately one hour to bring the blaze under complete control and prevent it from spreading to adjacent units. Their swift action was crucial in limiting the damage to the affected sections.
The residential complex is owned by Surekha Pai. Fortunately, despite the scale of the fire, there were no reported casualties or injuries, as residents were evacuated quickly and safely. Authorities have confirmed that the exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and a detailed investigation by the police and the fire department is currently underway to ascertain how the blaze started.
