Surathkal: Mangaluru North Traffic Police Station Constable Bakrabile Manjunath Hegde (44), who was admitted to the hospital in a serious condition after mistaking it for medicine and consuming rat poison, died in the hospital on Sunday night due to ineffective treatment.
A few years ago, Manjunath Hegde met with an accident while on duty. After that, he was constantly undergoing treatment due to ill health. He was receiving Ayurvedic medicine, and he fell ill after mistakly consuming rat poison at his house near Surathkal Chelayar. He was immediately admitted to Surathkal Hospital, and from there he was admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru for further treatment. It is learnt that he died there on July 27 due to ineffective treatment.
He is originally a resident of Debbeli, Harekala and is survived by his wife and two children.
