Mangaluru : In a moment of immense pride for the coastal city, Mangaluru’s NCC Naval Wing Cadet Lisha D.S. has been conferred with the prestigious ‘Raksha Mantri Commendation’ award, the highest honor bestowed by the National Cadet Corps. The award was presented by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh during a high-profile ceremony held at the DG NCC Campus in New Delhi on January 24th. This recognition comes as a testament to her exceptional service and consistent excellence in various programs and initiatives conducted by the National Cadet Corps under the Indian Navy.

Lisha D.S. has created a significant milestone by becoming the first cadet from South India to receive this esteemed national honor, marking a historic achievement for the Karnataka and Goa Directorate. Her dedication to the corps and her outstanding performance in naval wing activities were the primary factors behind her selection for this top-tier award.
Lisha D.S. is the daughter of Dejappa Bangera and Mallika, residents of Kulur, Mangaluru. She is currently pursuing her education at St. Joseph Engineering College in Vamanjoor. Her accomplishment has brought laurels not only to her family but also to her educational institution and the entire NCC fraternity of the region. The Mangaluru community and the Indian Navy wing of the NCC have expressed their heartfelt congratulations on her stellar achievement at the national level.
