Mangaluru: The Kavoor Police have successfully arrested two individuals who were involved in creating and posting a video reel on social media, where they were seen dancing while brandishing a sword (Talwar). This act caused fear and panic among the public. The arrested individuals have been identified as Amir Suhel (28), a resident of J. Dom Road, Bunder, and Suresh (29), a resident of Urundadigudde, Kavoor.
The incident came to light on December 13th when the video was posted on a Facebook account named “Suresh Psy,” which belongs to the accused Suresh. The video showed Amir Suhel dancing to a song while holding a sword, and the post was uploaded as a story with the caption ‘VIBES’ and a white heart symbol. The video quickly went viral on social media platforms. The police noted that this display was intentionally made to instill fear in the public.
Following the viral video, the Kavoor Police registered a case against Amir Suhel and Suresh. The charges were filed under the Indian Arms Act and Section 66 of the Information Technology (IT) Act. The police initiated a swift investigation to apprehend the accused.
The arrests were carried out under the guidance of Shrikanth K., ACP of the Mangaluru North Sub-Division. The team, led by Kavoor Police Station Inspector Raghavendra M. Byndoor, along with Sub-Inspector Mallikarjuna Biradar and other Kavoor station personnel including Sambhaji Kadam, Kenchana Gowda, Sharanappa, Raghavendra, and Riyaz, successfully traced and detained the two perpetrators.
