Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar Applauds Police for Foiling 'Digital Arrest' Scam

Magaluru : Minister for Women and Child Development and Minister in-charge of Udupi District, Laxmi Hebbalkar, commended the Mangaluru Police for their swift action in preventing a major financial loss in a ‘Digital Arrest’ fraud case. The police team acted quickly to ensure that approximately ₹17 lakh, which had been transferred from the account of an elderly woman in Bejai, did not reach the scammers.

Minister Congratulates DCPs at Airport
The Minister personally congratulated DCPs Mithun and Ravi Shankar at the Mangaluru Airport. Following the felicitation, the Minister sought details about the case from the officials. She expressed relief that the timely intervention prevented the victimization of a senior citizen.

Encouragement for Continued Excellent Service
Minister Hebbalkar praised the police officers for their swift response and exemplary service. “The fraud targeting a senior citizen was prevented. May your excellent service continue in the same manner,” she said, encouraging the police force. Youth Congress leader Mithun Rai was also present during the occasion.
