Bengaluru: A woman from Mulki lost her life in front of her husband in a stampede during the RCB victory ceremony in Bengaluru.
Akshata Pai originally hails from Mulki in Mangalore. She was the daughter of Amrith Pai, who runs a shop opposite Shree Venkatramana Temple in Mulki. Akshatha Pai was pursuing Chartered Accountancy (CA) in Bengaluru and was a gold medalist in the CA examination.
Akshatha had married engineer Ashay a year and a half ago. The couple was entering through Gate No. 17 when the stampede broke out. During the chaos, Akshatha got separated from her husband. While Ashay was rescued, Akshatha sadly lost her life. Her death was confirmed by her husband, who identified her by the RCB jersey she was wearing.
It is said, they took a day off from work and went to participate in the road show wearing RCB T-shirts. Since the road show was canceled, both of them went to the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Akshata’s body has been brought to her husband’s house, and the family’s grief has come to an end.
