Kalaburagi : A grim incident has come to light in Kalaburagi where Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) Basavaraj Herur, who had been actively serving in the District Crime Record Bureau (DCRB) section for the past two years, ended his life by hanging. The deceased officer belonged to the 2014 batch of the police service. While the exact motive behind this extreme step remains under investigation, initial suspicions point towards ongoing domestic discord as the primary trigger behind his sudden and drastic decision.
The tragedy unfolded late Tuesday night when PSI Basavaraj Herur reportedly made a phone call to his friends, distressed and hinting at taking his own life. Alarmed by the conversation, his friends immediately alerted the officer’s father about the situation. His father rushed to the residence and, upon finding it locked from the inside, had to break open the door, only to discover his son hanging. A case has been officially registered regarding the incident at the RG Nagar police station, and Kalaburagi City Police Commissioner Sharanappa S.D. visited the spot to personally assess the scene as further investigations continue.
