Udupi: The construction of the Parthasarathi Suvarna Ratha (Golden Chariot) dedicated to Lord Krishna will begin at the Rajangana premises in Udupi on Saturday, June 29, at 11 am.
The inauguration will be conducted by Sri Subudhendra Theertha Swamiji of Mantralaya Sri Raghavendra Matha in the presence of Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji, the current Paryaya seer of Sri Puthige Matha, who is in his fourth Paryaya tenure. The initiative is part of Sri Sugunendra Theertha’s Sannyasa Suvarna Mahotsava celebrations and is being undertaken with the aim of universal welfare.
Junior pontiff Sri Sushreendra Theertha Swamiji will also attend the ceremony. Several dignitaries, including Dr. H.S. Ballal, Pro-Chancellor of Manipal University, Rajya Sabha MP Kota Srinivas Poojary, and MLAs Yashpal Suvarna and Gurme Suresh Shetty, will participate.
According to an official release from the matha, Sri Subudhendra Theertha Swamiji will also perform a special puja to Sriman Moola Ramadevara at the Chandrashala on the occasion.
