Mangaluru: In an exciting update for wildlife enthusiasts, the Pilikula Development Authority has announced that two one-year-old tiger cubs will be officially released for public viewing on December 21 at 11:00 AM. This event, organized as part of the vibrant Karavali Utsav, marks a significant addition to the attractions at the biological park.
A Generous Adoption by Corporate India Dr. Arun Kumar Shetty, Commissioner of the Pilikula Development Authority, shared that ‘Cardiolite Specialty Chemicals India’ has stepped forward to adopt the cubs for a period of one year. By contributing ₹8 lakhs toward their annual upkeep and care, the organization has also earned the privilege of naming the young tigers. The male cub has been named Tennyson, while the female has been named Oliver. Both are the offspring of the park’s resident tigress, Rani.
From Nursery to Public Spotlight The cubs celebrated their very first birthday this past Friday, having spent their infancy in a secluded, high-care enclosure at the zoo to ensure their health and safety. Now that they are robust and active, they are ready to meet the public. Starting tomorrow, visitors to the zoo will be able to witness Tennyson and Oliver in their new open enclosure, a move expected to significantly boost tourist footfall during the festive season.
