Puttur : Town Police have successfully arrested a drug peddler who was attempting to sell the banned narcotic substance MDMA (Methylenedioxymethamphetamine) within the town limits.
The arrested accused has been identified as Mohammed Mustapha (36), a resident of Kabaka in Puttur. The arrest followed a raid conducted by the police based on credible information.
The incident occurred on November 15, 2025, within the Puttur Town Police Station limits. The police received intelligence that the accused was illegally selling the banned MDMA drug from a rented room belonging to a person named Veena, located near the Kammadi timber mill in Mukrampadi, Kemminje village.
During the raid on the rented room, the police discovered that the accused was illicitly possessing and selling 14 grams of the banned MDMA substance.
A case has been registered against the accused, Mohammed Mustapha, at the Puttur Town Police Station (F.I.R No: 109/2025) under Sections 8(C) and 22(b) of the NDPS Act.
It has been revealed that the accused, Mohammed Mustapha, is a repeat offender with a criminal history. He was previously convicted and sentenced to three years of imprisonment in a POCSO case (F.I.R No: 141/2015) registered at the Puttur Town Police Station. Furthermore, he has two other drug peddling cases (F.I.R Nos: 48/2024 and 108/2024) registered against him at the same police station.
