Puttur : Police action has led to the arrest of a man in Puttur who is implicated in a serious case of court deception. The accused allegedly provided fake legal instruments to the Principal District and Sessions Court in Mangaluru in a fraudulent attempt to secure bail for a separate individual.
The core of the deceit involved exploiting crucial land documents. Specifically, the accused took an RTC (Record of Rights, Tenancy, and Crops) document belonging to a local Puttur resident and deliberately passed it off as his own property. He submitted these fabricated details, which included forged signatures and a misleading security bond, to the court with the criminal intention of influencing the bail decision.
The individual apprehended in connection with this crime is Abdul Hashim, a 34-year-old resident hailing from Paduvannuru village in Puttur. His arrest took place on November 6 after the investigation highlighted his role in the creation and submission of these fraudulent papers.
Charges of cheating and forgery have been formally registered against him at the Uppinangady police station. Following his detention, the accused was brought before the court, which subsequently ordered that he be placed in judicial custody.
