Puttur : In a moment of immense pride for the coastal region and the Kannada community, Dr. Rashma Mohit Shetty, a Mulund-based doctor originally from Puttur, has been crowned the winner of the prestigious Mrs. India – Season 15 beauty pageant. The grand finale took place at the historic Jai Bagh Palace in Jaipur from December 18 to 21. Organized by National Director Deepali Phadnis, the event featured forty finalists from across the country who competed in various rigorous rounds.
A Gruelling Competition of Talent and Grace: The four-day competition was a comprehensive test of personality and skill. Dr. Rashma excelled in multiple segments, including talent rounds, inspirational life story sharing, personal interviews, ramp walks, and national costume showcases. Her victory follows a series of previous successes; she was the first runner-up in Mrs. India Karnataka 2024—where she won awards for Best Talent, Best Ramp Walk, and Best Task—and was also the first runner-up in Mrs. India Karnataka Mangaluru and Akanksha Mrs. Bunts 2023.
Academic Brilliance and Medical Profession: Dr. Rashma’s journey is one of academic excellence and professional dedication. Raised in Pononiya, Mundur village of Puttur taluk, she completed her schooling at Government School Papemajalu and PU education at Government College Kombettu. She later pursued Naturopathy at Alva’s College, Moodubidire, where she secured the 2nd Rank in Rajiv Gandhi University and was recognized as the ‘Best Outgoing Student.’ Currently, she serves as a medical practitioner in Mumbai and is a guest lecturer at Dr. D.Y. Patil College of Naturopathy, Navi Mumbai.
A Versatile Personality in Social Service and Arts: Beyond her medical career, Dr. Rashma is a committed social worker and a versatile artist. She serves as the Committee Secretary of the Inner Wheel Club of Mulund Hills, focusing on women’s health and lifestyle disorders. An accomplished state-level athlete and throwball player, she has also made her mark in theatre. She recently won the Best Actress award at the Dr. Shivaram Karanth Theatre Festival 2024 for her role in the play “Swami Koragajja.”
Family Background: Dr. Rashma is the daughter of Naryaguttu Raghunath Shetty and Amtoor Balike Kasturi Shetty. She is the wife of Mohit Shetty and the mother of a seven-year-old daughter, Nesara. She is the daughter-in-law of Manohar Shetty (Inoak Optics) and the late Mamata Shetty (former President of Mulund Bunts Women’s Wing). Her achievement is being celebrated as a testament to the balance of professional excellence, cultural roots, and social responsibility.
