Mangaluru : Renowned sports columnist Jagadish Chandra Anchan Suterpete has been selected for the prestigious ‘Sadhaka Ratna’ award. The honor will be presented during the Kerala-Karnataka Janapada Utsava event, jointly organized by the Karnataka Border Area Development Authority (Mangaluru/Kasaragod) and the Kerala Border Unit of Karnataka Janapada Parishat, scheduled to take place on September 27 at the Gokulam Park Convention Centre in Kaloor, Kochi.
Having dedicated over three decades to the field of sports journalism, Jagadish Chandra Anchan has earned numerous state and inter-state accolades for his outstanding literary contributions. His distinguished career includes receiving the Media Award in 2013, Samaj Ratna State Award in 2014, District Rajyotsava Award and Lions Rajyotsava Award in 2016, Gadinada Rajyotsava Award in 2018, and the Janapada Loka State Award alongside Namma Kudla Sadhaka Award in 2019.
Adding to his illustrious achievements, he was honored with the K.A. Nettakallappa State Award at the Karnataka Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ) State Conference in 2020, Siddagangashree State Award in 2021, K.R. Tagore Endowment Award from KUWJ Kasaragod Unit in 2022, and the Gadinada Sahitya Samskrutika Puraskara along with the Sadhana Award in 2023. More recently, he was conferred with the Karnataka Kalashree Award in 2024, followed by the Janapada Ratna Award, Kannada Payaswini Inter-State Award, and the Basavashree Award in 2026.
