Bengaluru : The Gandhinagar Assembly constituency in Bengaluru is reportedly home to 11,200 fake voters.
In light of these allegations, a “Signature Campaign for Voters’ Rights” was launched today at Sun Rise Circle against electoral fraud, or ‘Vote Chori’ (vote theft).
Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao, who participated and spoke at the event, stated that despite submitting the list of fake voters along with documentary evidence to the Election Commission (EC), no action has been taken yet. He questioned why the Election Commission is delaying the process of deleting these fraudulent votes.
The Minister recalled that their leader, Rahul Gandhi, has already extensively explained the issue of electoral fraud in the country to the people, supported by documentation. This is a situation that causes anxiety across the entire nation.
He strongly condemned the alleged action of the BJP, stating that turning constitutional bodies into their vote bank is highly objectionable, and this amounts to a complete murder of democracy.
He questioned the people’s silence regarding the previous BJP government in Karnataka, which he alleged came to power by creating over one lakh fake voters in the Mahadevapura constituency and obtaining votes from them. He lamented that it is regrettable that the BJP came to power by making the Election Commission its puppet, creating non-existent voters, sidelining constitutional values, and engaging in ‘Vote Chori’. He added that their party workers have identified thousands of fake voters even in his Chikkapete ward.
Therefore, he stressed that the ongoing signature campaign against ‘Vote Chori’ must be a success, and the signatures must be sent to the Election Commission to awaken the officials who are “sleeping with blindfolds on.”
He announced that this signature campaign is underway across the entire country, and their target is to collect over one lakh signatures from the Gandhinagar constituency alone. He appealed to all voters to participate and sign, thereby protecting democracy and saving the country from electoral fraud.
AICC Secretary Abhishek Dutt, along with party workers and local residents, was present at the event.
