Mangaluru: In a significant diplomatic and literary engagement, His Excellency Juan Antonio March Pujol, the Ambassador of Spain to India, launched his latest book, The Great Reset [CTRL+ALT+HUMAN], at the Hotel Vivanta by Taj in Mangaluru on February 3, 2026. The event, which coincided with the Spain-India Dual Year 2026, drew a diverse audience of academics, tech enthusiasts, and religious leaders. Described as a “futuristic thriller,” the novel explores a world on the brink of an AI-driven transformation, where humanity must decide between global unity and chaos. The Ambassador emphasized that the 21st century would be defined by how intelligence is used to empower individuals, rather than just establishing basic rights.
During his visit, the Ambassador praised India as a vital source of inspiration for global governance, specifically citing the nation’s successful unification in 1947 as a lesson for a multipolar world. Addressing the impact of Artificial Intelligence, he offered an optimistic view on employment, suggesting AI would create more jobs than it displaces. However, he issued a challenge to the educational sector, stating that teachers and institutions must undergo a “Great Reset” to adapt to exponential innovation. He also made a bold prediction that AI would eventually eliminate language barriers, allowing people to communicate across the globe while speaking their native tongues.
The visit included extensive institutional engagement, featuring dialogues with students at St. Joseph Engineering College and St. Aloysius University. To mark 70 years of Spain-India relations, the Ambassador announced ambitious exchange programs involving 85 Spanish universities and collaboration in sports like football and tennis. Before departing for Delhi, he visited historic landmarks including the Rosario Cathedral and Milagres Church. The event concluded with cultural bridge-building, featuring a vote of thanks delivered in Spanish, symbolizing the “intense interconnection” envisioned between the two nations.
