Mangaluru : In light of the heavy rush of Sabarimala pilgrims, special weekly express trains have been announced to operate between Mangaluru Junction and Thiruvananthapuram North stations.
The Mangaluru Junction-Thiruvananthapuram North Weekly Express Special (No. 06041) will run every Sunday starting from December 7 to January 18. The train will depart from Mangaluru Junction at 6:00 PM and reach Thiruvananthapuram North at 6:30 AM the following day.
Conversely, the Thiruvananthapuram North-Mangaluru Junction Weekly Express Special (No. 06042) will operate every Monday from December 8 to January 19. This train will depart from Thiruvananthapuram North at 8:30 AM and arrive at the ‘Central’ station at 8:30 PM on the same day. The Mandalam-Makaramasa pilgrimage season has completed its first 18 days, with the total number of pilgrims who have reached the Sabarimala Sannidhanam exceeding 15 lakh. Furthermore, today marks the Karthika day of Vrischika month, when the Karthika Deepam (holy lamp) will be lit at the Sabarimala Sannidhanam.
