Sullia : The Akhila Bharathiya Vidhyarthi Parishat (ABVP) launched a significant protest at the KSRTC Bus Stand in Sullia to condemn the ongoing negligence regarding public transportation. Students from various institutions gathered to voice their frustration over irregular bus timings and the insufficient number of services. The protesters highlighted that the current state of KSRTC operations has made the daily commute to schools and colleges a harrowing experience for the student community.
Leadership Calls for Urgent Action (Academic Impact)
Muliya Sathwik, President of the ABVP-supported All College Student Union, addressed the demonstrators, emphasizing how sudden cancellations and unpunctual schedules have severely disrupted academic routines. He pointed out that despite numerous appeals, the transport authorities have remained indifferent to the plight of students. Sathwik asserted that ABVP remains committed to the student cause and will continue its struggle until the government ensures reliable and student-friendly transportation facilities in the region.
A Call for Discipline and Persistence (Future Course of Action)
City Secretary Punith H urged the students to maintain unity and discipline while fighting for their rights. He demanded that the KSRTC department take the matter seriously to avoid further academic loss. Several prominent ABVP leaders, including Prithesh Kannemaradkka, Shrisharan Mogra, and Amith Nayak, were present to show solidarity. The protest concluded with a stern warning to the authorities: if immediate corrective measures are not taken, the organization will be forced to launch a much larger, state-wide movement to ensure justice for students.
