Mangaluru : The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit and Student Forum of Swastika National Business School, Mangaluru (affiliated to Mangalore University) successfully organized a 24-hour Shramadhana – One Day NSS Camp at Chitrapura Math, Surathkal, from 10:00 AM on November 1 to 10:00 AM on November 2, 2025.
The camp was inaugurated by Sri Sri Vidyendra Theertha Sripadaru, the Hereditary Ruler of Moktesar, at Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple and Math, Chitrapura. The Chief Guest for the event was Dr. Sheshappa, Program Coordinator, National Service Scheme, Mangalore University.
Under this initiative, NSS volunteers undertook the demolition of an old Matt building covering approximately 10,000 sq. ft. The team worked tirelessly throughout the 24 hours, efficiently segregating tiles, reaps, pillars, and sheets for reuse and disposal.
The Shramadhana witnessed active participation and dedication from all student volunteers, who received immense appreciation and support from both the Math authorities and the local villagers. The program provided students with an enriching, hands-on learning experience in teamwork, discipline, and social responsibility.
Special gratitude was extended to Dr. Sheshappa Amin K, NSS Coordinator, Mangalore University, for his continuous encouragement and presence during the program.
The camp was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Raghavendra Holla N, Chairman, Dr. Malini N. Hebbar, Principal, and Mrs. Vidyalaxmi P. Shetty, NSS Program Officer, along with the dedicated efforts of NSS secretaries, faculty members, and student volunteers from Swastika National Business School.
